How did the "VI" line come about?

The first Sleegers VI module was developed in 2007. We had an innovation assignment together with Vion. For those who are not familiar with Vion: this is a large boning company that works a lot with bacon and meat products. They set us the challenge of neatly laying out marinated meat slices in groups. The machine we developed for this purpose was the prototype for our first Sleegers module, which we therefore called the VI-01. The first VI-01 machine is located in Groenlo and is still running. Since then, we have kept the name VI. We are now developing the VI-66.

At a certain moment you have to make choices

When a module is made that deviates from a previous design, then it gets a new number. Sometimes we skip a number because a project doesn't reach the finish line. For example, there is no VI-32 and we deliberately skipped number 13.

At a certain point the numbers grow and you have to make choices. That is why we started to focus on the modules that excel. From this, the Sleegers top 3 emerged.

In the next 3 blogs I'll tell you about these popular machines that have made Sleegers a well-known name among food producers.
